Prix Magnet accordés aux Pionniers en matière de leadership dans l’écosystème (MAPLE)
The MAPLE Awards celebrate organizations advancing workforce and economic development across Canada through technology, collaboration, and system level leadership.
Winners in the three juried award categories will be selected by a committee made up of Magnet Board members and former MAPLE winners, working in partnership with Magnet leadership. All nominees will also be in the running for the System Spotlight award, which is determined by popular vote. Vote here.

Nunavut Marine Innovation and Research: Led by the Qikiqtaaluk Corporation, NMIR carries out research to expand northern marine knowledge and support sustainable fisheries in Nunavut. NMIR’s Inuit Employee In Training program hires Inuit employees across all 13 Qukiqtai hamlets in Nunavut into crew positions with at-sea job shadowing, full wrap-around support and salaries, and transition into permanent full-time employment.
SFU Dial: Founded at Simon Fraser University (SFU), DIAL’s upskilling programs support applied digital transformation across Canadian organizations. DIAL has upskilled 1,100+ leaders and professionals across healthcare, forestry, biotech, government, and non-profits since 2021. With new investments, DIAL will expand to integrate AI competencies, apprenticeships, and work-integrated learning.
Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) supports the workforce needs of Canada’s electricity and renewable energy sector. Its Leadership Accord on DEI brings together employers, unions, educators, and industry associations, with more than 100 signatories committed to advancing workforce readiness, business resilience, and Canada’s clean energy future.

This award recognizes organizations that have excelled in fostering robust partnerships and new models of collaboration to create novel solutions in employment and training.

With a focus on hands-on industry-relevant learning, Vancouver Community College(VCC) offers 140+ programs across health sciences, hospitality, trades, design, arts, and more. VCC’s innovative Collaboration Framework allows post-secondary institutions to share curriculum, turning institutional assets into public goods. The shared curriculum repository features content from six program areas and is available for use across 11 member institutions.
econext is a not-for-profit industry association dedicated to advancing environmentally sustainable economic growth in Newfoundland and Labrador. econext’s combined approach of career readiness courses, paid internships, and employer-facing tools to support retention was integral to securing employment for 22 newcomers in 2025, with upskilling delivered to an additional 115 participants.
FACE is a national Black-led non-profit organization focused on providing resources and information to Black Businesses across Canada. FACE’s partnerships with government and businesses offers Black entrepreneurs sustainable economic resources, capacity, and strategic support. As of 2025, FACE has supported Black entrepreneurs with 744 loans totaling $67.09 million.

Prepr’s digital learning labs have been accessed by 16,000+ learners across 300+ organizations. Labs are co-designed and led by experts with real industry and leadership experience, allowing learners of all backgrounds to master critical digital and human skills. In 2025, Prepr was recognized by the Hon. Patty Hajdu as a model for skills development.
Wavemakers offers Canadian post-secondary students work-integrated learning (WIL) experience through a virtual reality environment. By delivering WIL through a virtual environment, Wavemakers removes barriers to participation by allowing students to access opportunities no matter their location or ability. Wavemakers has engaged 1,000+ students across 98 post-secondary institutions.
PeaceGeeks uses technology and peace-building principles to create impact through digital tools that empower refugees and immigrants. In 2025 alone, PeaceGeeks’ WelcomeCoach.ca, an AI-enhanced platform that helps newcomers build careers in Canada, engaged 200,000 unique users. The platform is available in 12 languages and includes content specific to each province and territory.
